The AI-identified attacks specifically targeted deliberately weakened implementations designed for research purposes, not production-grade systems actively protecting real transactions and user funds in actual deployment. Anthropic confirmed that modern, full-strength AES remains secure and unaffected by these findings.

However, this research highlights an evolving reality: as AI continues accelerating mathematical discovery and problem-solving capabilities, blockchain developers may eventually need to evaluate post-quantum security against both quantum computing threats and AI-based cryptanalysis simultaneously.
