DefiLlama Integrates Forgd Market-Maker Leaderboard for Enhanced Liquidity Transparency
Crypto analytics platform DefiLlama has integrated Forgd's market-maker leaderboard, bringing standardized evaluation metrics for liquidity providers to a broader audience. The tool provides data on spreads, market depth, volume, and uptime across crypto market makers.
DefiLlama, a major crypto analytics platform, has integrated Forgd’s market-maker leaderboard into its suite of tools, bringing standardized evaluation metrics for liquidity providers to a broader audience. The integration provides users with comprehensive data on spreads, market depth, trading volume, and operational uptime across crypto market makers, offering insights that were previously scattered or unavailable in a standardized format.
Comprehensive Metrics Drive Better Market Decisions
The leaderboard ranks market makers using consistent measures of pricing efficiency, market depth, reliability, and execution quality. The underlying dataset encompasses more than 500 token projects and 35 market-making firms that utilize Forgd’s monitoring infrastructure. This breadth of data enables DefiLlama users to compare market-maker performance across exchanges and assess the liquidity characteristics supporting different tokens.
Forgd originally launched the leaderboard in May as a tool designed specifically for token projects to evaluate and monitor their liquidity provider relationships. By making the leaderboard available through DefiLlama’s platform, both companies have expanded access to this data well beyond project operators. Traders, institutional participants, and other market stakeholders can now leverage these metrics to assess execution quality across the market-making landscape.
Ryan Celaj, DefiLlama’s head of research, emphasized that the integration provides an additional signal for evaluating execution quality and market resilience. This metric complements traditional indicators such as trading volume and liquidity depth, offering users a more nuanced view of market-maker performance and stability.
Rating Methodology Reflects Data Participation
An important distinction regarding the leaderboard’s rankings came directly from Forgd CEO Shane Molidor, who explained to Cointelegraph that ratings do not exclusively reflect observed trading performance. Instead, a lower ranking may indicate that a market maker has not fully participated in Forgd’s performance verification process or has not completely opted into data sharing with the platform. This means that market-maker ratings reflect both their actual trading quality and the comprehensiveness of the data they voluntarily provide to Forgd for evaluation.
This distinction is significant for interpreting the rankings, as strong trading performance alone does not guarantee a high position on the leaderboard if a market maker has chosen not to participate fully in the verification framework. Conversely, firms that actively share performance data and engage with Forgd’s verification process may benefit from higher visibility and rankings.
Forgd and DefiLlama did not disclose the financial terms or revenue arrangements underlying their partnership agreement.
Advancing Market Infrastructure Transparency
This integration represents progress toward standardizing how market-making infrastructure is evaluated across the crypto industry. As crypto markets have matured, the quality and transparency of liquidity provision has become increasingly important for both token projects seeking reliable market makers and traders seeking optimal execution venues. Better transparency in market-making quality supports more efficient capital allocation and helps participants make more informed decisions about which liquidity providers offer reliable service and strong execution.
Improved visibility into market-maker performance ultimately strengthens market resilience and supports healthier trading conditions across the crypto ecosystem.
