Bitwise Experiences $100 Million Daily Inflow Surge as Solana and Altcoins Lead Investor Demand
Solana products dominate Bitwise's U.S. cryptocurrency ETPs with $40 million in single-day inflows, as institutional capital increasingly diversifies across multiple blockchain ecosystems.
Record Inflows Signal Broadening Institutional Interest
Bitwise’s U.S. cryptocurrency exchange-traded products captured approximately $100 million in investor capital during a single trading day, according to data disclosed by CEO Hunter Horsley. The substantial inflow underscores renewed institutional demand for digital asset exposure as Bitcoin approaches the $80,000 threshold and market sentiment shifts toward alternative asset categories.
The distribution of capital across Bitwise’s product lineup reveals significant changes in investor preferences. Solana-focused offerings led the charge, attracting roughly $40 million and establishing themselves as the primary destination for institutional capital. Bitcoin products came in second, pulling in approximately $22 million, while Hyperliquid-based offerings ranked third with around $20 million in inflows.
Alternative Layer-Ones Command Meaningful Capital Allocation
XRP-linked products attracted approximately $12 million during the period, while Ethereum-related offerings accounted for roughly $1.4 million—the smallest allocation among major protocols tracked in Bitwise’s suite. The combined inflows to Solana, Hyperliquid, and XRP totaled approximately $72 million, substantially exceeding Ethereum’s contribution and highlighting a notable market preference for emerging layer-one solutions and alternative blockchain ecosystems.
Solana’s dominance extended to staking derivatives, with the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) recording its highest trading volume since launch, processing more than $126 million in daily transactions. Solana’s share of the total inflow represented approximately 40% of all capital flowing into Bitwise’s U.S. cryptocurrency products, underscoring concentrated institutional interest in the blockchain ecosystem and its associated financial instruments.
Broader Crypto Market Recovery Driving Sustained Inflows
The capital influx into Bitwise’s products reflects broader momentum in cryptocurrency investment vehicles. U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs have maintained consecutive days of positive inflows across eight trading sessions, accumulating approximately $2.8 billion during the period. BlackRock’s IBIT product alone captured roughly $2.02 billion of this total, representing approximately 72% of eight-day cumulative inflows.
Bloomberg ETF analyst Eric Balchunas characterized the recent activity as unprecedented, noting that combined inflows into gold and Bitcoin funds reached $7 billion over a five-day period. Balchunas attributed the capital reallocation to a broader “debasement trade,” in which investors increasingly seek exposure to alternative assets outside traditional financial systems.
The diversified nature of Bitwise’s daily inflows suggests institutional investors are constructing more sophisticated cryptocurrency allocations spanning multiple protocol ecosystems rather than concentrating exclusively on Bitcoin. For the broader crypto market, the recognition of XRP’s institutional-grade demand alongside Solana and Hyperliquid indicates growing acceptance of diverse blockchain solutions across professional investment portfolios.
