Bitcoin Suisse Relocates Up to Half of Swiss Workforce Overseas
Crypto financial services firm Bitcoin Suisse is shifting back-office operations to Bratislava and Vietnam while pursuing global wealth management expansion.
Restructuring Back-Office Operations
Bitcoin Suisse, a Swiss cryptocurrency financial services firm, is planning to relocate approximately half of its Swiss workforce to lower-cost international locations as part of its global expansion strategy. According to Bitcoin Suisse, as reported by Swiss financial publication Finews and covered by Cointelegraph, the restructuring could affect as many as 60 of the company’s 120 Swiss-based employees, primarily those in back-office and administrative roles. Founded in Zug in 2013, Bitcoin Suisse currently provides cryptocurrency trading, custody, staking, and lending services. The company plans to establish new back-office facilities in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Vietnam over the coming years, relocating administrative and support functions to these more cost-effective jurisdictions.
CEO Andrej Majcen told Finews that cost efficiency was a primary consideration in making this decision, explaining that operating these functions in Bratislava and Vietnam would significantly reduce operating expenses compared to Switzerland. However, Majcen was careful to characterize the restructuring as part of Bitcoin Suisse’s longer-term strategic vision rather than a reaction to current market conditions. He stated the move was not a response to weakness in the cryptocurrency market, but instead a deliberate component of the company’s plan to expand internationally and develop a more comprehensive wealth and asset management offering. Bitcoin Suisse is specifically targeting institutional clients, family offices, asset managers, and high-net-worth individuals as it evolves from a primarily Switzerland-focused firm into a global wealth management platform.
Expanding Global Reach Throughout 2026
Bitcoin Suisse’s operational restructuring coincides with an accelerating international expansion. The company announced in June its strategic pivot toward global wealth management, moving beyond its traditional Swiss market focus. The company has already made significant progress in establishing international regulatory presence, securing licenses in Liechtenstein and Bermuda earlier in 2026, and receiving full regulatory approval for its Middle East subsidiary in Abu Dhabi in July 2026. By consolidating back-office and administrative functions in lower-cost jurisdictions, Bitcoin Suisse can concentrate more resources on client-facing wealth management services and institutional offerings across its expanding global network.
Bitcoin Suisse’s strategic relocation and global expansion reflect growing institutional demand for professional cryptocurrency services, signaling broader market maturation and the increasing integration of digital assets into professional investment portfolios.
