REX Launches Leveraged Bitcoin Proxy ETF as Strive Bitcoin Holdings Top 25,000
A new 2x leveraged ETF provides traders with amplified exposure to Strive, a major Bitcoin treasury company, through daily-resetting leverage on equity shares rather than direct Bitcoin holdings.
Bitcoin Treasury Gets Leverage Play
REX Shares and Tuttle Capital Management have introduced a new financial instrument targeting investors seeking amplified exposure to corporate Bitcoin holdings. The T-REX 2X Long ASST Daily Target ETF, trading under the ticker ASSX on the Cboe exchange, offers investors twice the daily performance of Strive shares, a publicly traded Bitcoin treasury and asset management firm. The fund began trading Friday and targets delivering 200% of Strive’s daily share-price movements before accounting for fees and expenses.
How Daily Reset Works and What It Means
Unlike traditional leveraged instruments that maintain constant leverage ratios, the ASSX fund resets its leverage on a daily basis. This means that while investors receive 2x exposure to daily price movements, returns calculated over longer timeframes may diverge substantially from simply doubling Strive’s overall performance. The important distinction from spot Bitcoin ETFs lies in the fund’s structure—ASSX does not directly hold Bitcoin or track its price. Instead, it provides leveraged access to an equity investment, essentially allowing traders to amplify bets on how Strive’s stock price moves.
REX Shares and Tuttle Capital Management have expanded this leveraged approach beyond Strive alone. The firms also maintain 2x ETFs linked to companies including Strategy, BitMine, Cipher Mining, Circle, and SharpLink, creating a suite of leveraged equity products across the crypto-adjacent corporate sector.
Growing Bitcoin Holdings Fuel Market Appetite
Strive’s profile as a publicly traded Bitcoin treasury company has become increasingly prominent within institutional markets. The company currently holds approximately 25,000 Bitcoin according to BitcoinTreasures.NET data, positioning it as the fifth-largest publicly listed firm with direct Bitcoin exposure. This substantial position reflects Strive’s strategy of accumulating digital assets, with recent Bitcoin acquisitions financed through sales of its perpetual preferred stock, SATA. The company’s most recent Bitcoin purchase comprised 469 coins.
Market interest in Strive’s operations appears robust, with the firm’s equity shares gaining 6.4% on Friday to close at $30.09, above the $29.40 average 12-month analyst price target according to S&P Global. New leverage products targeting Bitcoin treasury companies signal mounting institutional appetite for diverse pathways to Bitcoin exposure through equity markets.
