Uniswap Launches Zero-Fee Launchpad on Robinhood Chain, Disrupting the Memecoin Wars

Uniswap Enters the Launchpad Wars

The decentralized exchange giant Uniswap has made a significant move into the booming memecoin launchpad space with the launch of Pools.trade, a new token-launch platform built on Robinhood Chain. The platform, which went live on August 5, 2026, represents Uniswap’s direct entry into territory previously dominated by platforms like Pump Fun on Solana and Pons on Robinhood Chain.

Pools.trade operates using Uniswap’s v4 protocol and offers a compelling differentiator from competitors: zero trading fees. This fee-free model is a rarity in the launchpad space, as few teams have the financial position to absorb operational costs without charging users. Most competing launchpads rely on fees to sustain their operations.

The rollout proved chaotic in its early hours. Hayden Adams, Uniswap’s founder, revealed that traders discovered and accessed test versions of the platform’s smart contracts before the official interface even launched. This early access drove more than $150 million in trading volume through the unreleased contracts, forcing Uniswap to support both the test and final contract versions simultaneously and pushing back the official launch date.

Two Paths to Launch and Market Integration

Pools.trade offers launchpad creators two distinct methods for launching tokens. The first is an instant launch option, which mirrors the mechanics of existing launchpad platforms. The second is a “crowd launch” designed with fairness and protection in mind. This approach aims to reduce the impact of bundling—the sniping tactic where well-positioned traders and insiders secure disproportionately large allocations at a token’s opening.

Adams noted that Uniswap has functioned as launchpad infrastructure since its inception over eight years ago, as all newly created tokens have historically launched into Uniswap pools. In that sense, Pools.trade formalizes a role the exchange has already played informally.

Dominating Market Share on Day One

The market responded decisively. Robinhood Chain’s decentralized exchange volumes rebounded 50% from recent local lows following Pools.trade’s launch, while daily transaction counts climbed 50% as well. More strikingly, Pools.trade captured 50% of all launchpad volume on the chain and accounts for 40% of new tokens launched on Robinhood Chain since its debut.

Uniswap’s distribution strategy accelerated ecosystem adoption. The platform received immediate integration into Uniswap’s web application, wallet, and trading API. Third-party support quickly followed, with major venues including Bitget, Fomo, GMGN, and OKX Wallet adding Pools.trade access within day one. This vertical integration of token creation and trading positions Pools.trade as the default launchpad for Robinhood Chain, leveraging Uniswap’s already-dominant position as the chain’s primary exchange.

The platform remains in beta testing, leaving questions about its long-term sustainability and the quality of tokens it will attract. However, Uniswap’s scale, liquidity provision, and strategic positioning on Robinhood Chain signal serious intent to dominate the memecoin launchpad market. As one-click token launching becomes the primary on-ramp for new cryptocurrency projects, Uniswap’s zero-fee model and market dominance could reshape how projects gain early liquidity and distribution.
