XRP Traders Face Accelerated BitMEX Exodus

According to BitMEX, the longtime derivatives exchange is accelerating its exit from the crypto industry. The platform will delist XRP (XRPU26), ADA, ETH, and XBT futures on August 10 at 12:00 p.m. UTC—three weeks ahead of their originally scheduled September closure. More significantly, BitMEX announced its complete shutdown for September 23, marking the end of an era for the exchange that once dominated crypto derivatives trading. Traders holding XRPU26 positions must relocate their positions to alternative venues before the delisting deadline. BitMEX will settle outstanding contracts using adjusted indexes calculated via time-weighted average prices determined on August 6, ensuring fair execution throughout the transition.

Coinbase Brings Integrated Finance to UK Investors

While BitMEX exits, according to Coinbase, the exchange is aggressively expanding its “Everything Exchange” vision, launching US stock trading in the United Kingdom. CEO Brian Armstrong positioned the move as a milestone in merging traditional securities and digital assets on a single platform, allowing British users to purchase shares in technology giants such as Google and Microsoft directly through the Coinbase app.

According to Coinbase UK CEO Keith Grose, the launch has received regulatory approval and now operates commission-free on a 24/5 basis with a £1 minimum investment through fractional shares—a feature designed to attract British retail investors who have historically been less active in equities than American counterparts. The platform’s UK offering complements existing savings accounts and crypto-backed loan products, positioning Coinbase as a unified hub for traditional and digital wealth management.

AI Powers MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin Strategy

In a novel application of artificial intelligence to finance, according to MicroStrategy founder Michael Saylor, the company used ChatGPT to design a capital-raising structure that enabled the firm to raise approximately $15 billion for Bitcoin purchases. Speaking on The Diary of a CEO podcast, Saylor explained that the AI helped architect a financing mechanism previously undeveloped by market participants, illustrating how cutting-edge technology is reshaping corporate finance.

Saylor emphasized that AI will increasingly automate routine work, shifting human value toward idea generation and strategic decision-making. He characterized MicroStrategy’s recent partial Bitcoin sale as a controlled stress test, demonstrating that the company’s asset adjustments do not destabilize the broader market. Looking forward, Saylor predicted Bitcoin will outperform the S&P 500 by 1.5 to two times over the next twenty years, reflecting his conviction that scarce digital assets will appreciate as automation commoditizes goods and services.

As BitMEX exits and Coinbase integrates traditional finance, XRP’s access to diverse trading platforms becomes essential for maintaining liquidity during crypto’s consolidation toward integrated exchange infrastructure.
