Tokenized Stock Market Explodes With Holdings Surging Past 1.3 Million
The tokenized equities market is experiencing unprecedented growth, with holders more than doubling in a single month as trading volume skyrockets and traditional finance assets move on-chain.
Rapid Growth in Tokenized Equities
The market for tokenized stocks has entered a dramatic acceleration phase. In just one month, the number of participants holding these assets more than doubled to reach 1.31 million accounts, while the value being actively traded surged to $23.13 billion on a monthly basis—an increase of roughly 179%. This explosive growth demonstrates growing institutional and retail appetite for bringing traditional financial instruments onto blockchain networks where they can be traded with the speed and efficiency of native crypto assets. Active trading participation also climbed substantially, with nearly 572,000 monthly active addresses representing a 34.62% jump over the same period. Meanwhile, the total distributed value of all tokenized stock positions increased 5.9% to $2.38 billion, indicating both growth in adoption and expansion of the available product ecosystem.
Leading Platforms and Market Competition
Ondo Finance has established itself as the dominant platform in this emerging sector, with approximately $872 million in total distributed value across its tokenized equity offerings. Kraken’s xStocks product trails at $557.8 million, while Binance’s newer bStocks platform—which only launched in June—has rapidly accumulated $521.8 million in distributed value, coming within roughly $36 million of Kraken’s total in just a couple of months. This aggressive pace underscores the competitive intensity among major exchanges to capture market share in what increasingly appears to be a structural shift in how traditional assets reach retail traders. The individual tokenized assets drawing the most activity include Securitize with $145.2 million in value, the Strategy PP Variable xStock at $135.6 million, and Ondo’s tokenized Circle shares at $99.7 million.
SpaceX Campaign and the $4 Trillion Opportunity
The tokenized equities boom gained significant momentum around the SpaceX pre-IPO opportunity earlier this year. Major platforms including Binance, Coinbase, Kraken, Bybit, Bitget, and Blockchain.com all introduced products enabling token holders to gain exposure to the aerospace company ahead of its June public debut. A Binance promotion alone attracted $557 million in user participation, demonstrating considerable appetite for regulated on-chain pre-IPO access. However, the campaign faced operational friction when several platforms—Binance, Bybit, and Bitget Wallet—found themselves unable to source sufficient underlying shares to fulfill all subscriber requests, forcing them to cancel their tokenized SpaceX campaigns and return customer funds. Despite this setback, Binance’s bStocks SpaceX token has grown to $67.9 million in value since the actual public listing, becoming the seventh-largest individual tokenized asset tracked across the ecosystem.
Financial institutions are taking the tokenization thesis seriously, according to RWA.xyz. Standard Chartered Bank projects that real-world asset tokenization could grow into a $4 trillion market by the end of 2028. If accurate, that forecast suggests the current activity represents just the earliest stages of a much larger structural shift in how traditional assets interact with blockchain infrastructure. The success of this market directly impacts crypto’s transition from speculative asset class to genuine financial infrastructure for modern markets.
