XRP Spot ETFs Continue Nine-Day Inflow Surge Despite Price Pressure
Institutional demand for XRP ETFs remains robust, with $1.6 billion in cumulative inflows since launch and $725 million flowing in over the past nine trading days alone—even as the token's price struggles.
ETF Flows Defy Token Price Weakness
Spot XRP exchange-traded funds are sustaining strong institutional demand, extending a nine-day inflow streak that has accumulated roughly $1.6 billion in net inflows since the products’ November 2025 launch. On August 28 alone, the funds captured $26.2 million in fresh capital, according to data from SoSoValue. Over the nine-day period, inflows have reached approximately $725 million, with daily volumes ranging between $2.4 million and over $28 million. The sustained buying pressure stands in sharp contrast to XRP’s near-term price performance, with the token trading near $1.39—down 2.7% on the day and 7.6% across the past week as of late August.
Bloomberg Intelligence analyst James Seyffart highlighted the resilience of these flows, noting that capital has been moving almost entirely in one direction despite XRP’s soft price action. By his calculation, cumulative inflows reached approximately $1.8 billion, a figure he described as particularly notable when weighed against the token’s lackluster performance over the same timeframe. With total net assets across XRP ETF products standing at roughly $1.6 billion, the inflow momentum suggests institutional conviction independent of short-term price movements.
Institutional Players Lead the Charge
Analysis of second-quarter 13F filings revealed the institutional makeup behind XRP ETF accumulation. Goldman Sachs emerged as the largest holder of spot XRP ETF exposure, carrying approximately $87.4 million, followed by Jane Street and Millennium Management. Within the investor category breakdown, investment advisers dominate both as the largest overall holders and the most active allocators during the quarter, significantly outpacing hedge funds and brokerages. This composition underscores a shift toward traditional financial institutions incorporating XRP exposure into diversified portfolios.
Broader ETF Market Dynamics
The XRP ETF performance contrasts sharply with broader spot cryptocurrency ETF trends. Bitcoin’s spot funds recently snapped their own nine-day inflow streak, signaling a potential shift in money flows across the digital assets space. Ethereum products, however, have continued to draw capital during the same period. XRP’s inflow resilience comes despite recent market headwinds, including a leverage unwind that tested the token’s rally. Yet despite weekly weakness, XRP has maintained an impressive 38% gain over the preceding 14-day period, suggesting potential recovery dynamics even amid consolidation phases.
The sustained institutional demand through XRP ETFs indicates that professional allocators view the current price dislocation as a buying opportunity, separating long-term conviction from short-term volatility—a dynamic that could support further upside if broader market sentiment stabilizes.
