Ripple Expands Institutional Trading Platform with Delta One Services
Ripple has announced the launch of Delta One trading capabilities through its Ripple Prime institutional platform, significantly broadening the scope of services available to sophisticated market participants. The newly live offering enables institutional clients to engage in total return swaps connected to major U.S.-listed equities, broad equity indices, and digital assets. This expansion positions Ripple Prime as a comprehensive solution for hedge funds, asset managers, and other institutional financial players seeking integrated access to multiple asset classes and trading instruments from a single provider.
A Differentiated Approach to Institutional Trading
Ripple’s Delta One business distinguishes itself from conventional Delta One desks through its deliberately focused operational design. Rather than combining proprietary trading, market-making, and client-facing services under one roof—the typical model employed by many traditional financial institutions—Ripple Prime concentrates exclusively on clearing and financing operations. This approach reflects Ripple’s commitment to serving as an infrastructure provider rather than a competing market participant. This focused architecture allows institutional clients to consolidate their trading activities with a single counterparty, potentially streamlining operations and reducing fragmentation across multiple service providers.
The offering represents a natural expansion of Ripple Prime’s existing service suite, which already provides prime brokerage, clearing, and financing capabilities across foreign exchange markets, derivatives, and other instruments. By adding equities and indices to this foundation, Ripple enables institutions to access a broader spectrum of markets through unified infrastructure, reducing the need to maintain relationships with disparate service providers and streamlining operational complexity.
Financial Position and Strategic Development
Ripple Prime operates from a position of considerable financial strength. The platform maintains regulatory net capital exceeding $1 billion, providing a substantial buffer for operations and safeguarding client assets and clearing operations. Recent capital activities further underscore institutional confidence in the business model and Ripple’s long-term strategy. Ripple Prime completed a $275 million private placement of senior unsecured notes, securing additional resources to fund expansion and infrastructure development to support its growing client base.
The Delta One launch reflects Ripple’s strategic evolution following its integration of Hidden Road. The company became a minority investor in Hidden Road in 2022, then announced a $1.25 billion acquisition in April 2025. Upon closing in October 2025, Hidden Road was seamlessly integrated into Ripple’s operations as Ripple Prime, consolidating capabilities in clearing, prime brokerage, and financing across foreign exchange, digital assets, derivatives, swaps, and fixed income markets. The acquisition accelerated Ripple’s buildout as a comprehensive institutional infrastructure provider capable of serving all institutional trading needs.
Ripple’s expansion into traditional equities and indices reflects broader institutional adoption of blockchain-anchored financial infrastructure and signals the ongoing convergence of digital and traditional asset clearing, positioning digital assets as a core component of institutional trading operations.
