RLUSD Stablecoin Crosses $1 Billion Supply on XRP Ledger in Historic Milestone
Ripple's USD-backed stablecoin reaches unprecedented circulation levels on the XRP Ledger as minting activity accelerates across blockchain networks.
Stablecoin Supply Surpasses Record Level
According to Ripple’s Stablecoin Tracker, RLUSD has achieved a significant watershed moment, with circulating supply on the XRP Ledger now exceeding $1 billion for the first time. The Ripple stablecoin reached $1.024 billion in circulating supply on the XRP Ledger, marking recognition of growing adoption and utility within the network ecosystem.
Accelerating Minting Activity Drives Growth
The milestone reflects a surge in recent network activity. Over the past 48 hours, minting operations have intensified across Ripple’s supported blockchains. On August 27, $26.2 million in RLUSD was created while $6.9 million was burned, followed by $36.9 million minted and $7.5 million burned on August 28. Three discrete minting transactions on the XRP Ledger—each representing 19.9 million, 10 million, and 10 million RLUSD respectively—drove the expansion. Ethereum similarly experienced heightened activity, with $53.3 million minted on August 28 alongside $5 million burned.
Broader Ecosystem Strength
The XRP Ledger milestone occurs against a backdrop of expanding RLUSD deployment. Total RLUSD circulating supply across all supported networks now stands at $2.27 billion, with Ethereum’s portion representing $1.24 billion. The XRP Ledger’s achievement reflects Ripple’s strategic emphasis on deepening liquidity and infrastructure on its native blockchain.
Beyond stablecoin metrics, the XRP Ledger continues demonstrating operational maturity. The network recently surpassed 5 billion transactions processed over its 14-year operational history. Complementing this infrastructure growth, Ripple has initiated an AI-powered security audit of Lending Protocol V1.1 through Sherlock Audit Engine, signaling ongoing commitment to protocol safety as the ecosystem expands.
Recent regulatory and institutional developments further underscore ecosystem momentum. The SEC declared Evernorth—Ripple’s XRP treasury company—registration effective, positioning the entity to leverage its 473 million XRP reserve. Additionally, Mastercard has joined as sponsor of the XRP Ledger Hackathon, co-hosted by the XRP Ledger Foundation ahead of Ripple Swell, indicating sustained enterprise interest in building on the network.
This convergence of stablecoin growth, protocol development, and institutional participation suggests the XRP Ledger is consolidating its position as a multi-purpose blockchain network.
