Solana Tokens Now Live on XRPL DEX

The Solana network has officially connected with the XRP Ledger through a new integration that allows users to trade wrapped SOL directly on XRPL’s native decentralized exchange. According to Hussein Zangana, director of community at the XRP Ledger Foundation, wrapped Solana tokens, issued via Axelar’s bridge, are now accessible across multiple platforms serving the XRP Ledger ecosystem. This development enables seamless token swaps and opens new trading pathways for investors holding Solana assets who also participate in XRPL-based DeFi.

The wrapped SOL tokens are available through several established platforms within the XRP Ledger ecosystem. Users can execute trades on XPMarket, First Ledger, and Magnetic, three DeFi platforms built on the XRPL. Additionally, those who use the Xaman Wallet can access Solana directly through the wallet’s integrated swap widget, allowing transactions without leaving the interface. This multi-platform availability reflects the growing maturity and user accessibility of XRPL’s decentralized exchange infrastructure.

Bidirectional Bridge Strengthens Interoperability

The addition of Solana to the XRPL DEX represents the continuation of a broader trend in cross-chain connectivity that has accelerated significantly since 2025. The relationship between these two networks has become increasingly reciprocal: earlier, wrapped XRP (wXRP), issued by Hex Trust, was deployed on Solana, making the XRP Ledger’s native token available to Solana’s DeFi ecosystem, including popular applications like Jupiter and Phantom. This bidirectional flow demonstrates growing momentum toward network interoperability in the cryptocurrency space.

The wrapped XRP deployed on Solana went live in April and can be paired with RLUSD for trading. Beyond Solana, wXRP has been made available across multiple blockchain networks, including Optimism, Ethereum, and HyperEVM, enabling XRP Ledger assets to function across a diverse range of blockchain ecosystems. Such developments signal a maturing DeFi landscape where assets can move fluidly across chains, regardless of the underlying network they originate from.

Critical Warning: Verify Legitimate Tokens

While the expansion offers new opportunities, it also introduces risks that users must navigate carefully. Zangana issued an explicit warning: Axelar is currently the only legitimate issuer of wrapped Solana tokens on the XRPL. The proliferation of counterfeit tokens represents a real threat to users unfamiliar with verification methods. To mitigate this risk, supported platforms have implemented verification checkmarks that appear next to legitimate token issuers, making identification easier for traders.

However, checkmarks alone should not be users’ sole defense. Verified issuers will display Axelar Bridge as the account name with a corresponding checkmark visible on chain explorers like XRPScan. Users conducting trades should verify the issuer address independently and cross-reference it with trustworthy sources before committing funds. This layer of diligence, though simple, can prevent costly errors in an ecosystem where token spoofing remains a persistent vulnerability.

This milestone underscores how interoperability solutions are reshaping the broader cryptocurrency market, enabling assets and users to move seamlessly between networks while expanding liquidity opportunities across the DeFi ecosystem.
