Bitcoin and Ether ETFs Surge on Massive Institutional Inflows
Bitcoin ETFs attracted $608.3 million on Thursday as Ether ETFs hit a near-historic single-day inflow of $220.8 million, signaling deepening institutional confidence in digital assets.
Bitcoin ETFs Break Through Key Monthly Benchmarks
Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds are capturing significant investor interest this week, with massive inflows continuing to fuel a broader digital asset rally. US spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $608.3 million in net inflows on Thursday alone, marking the fourth consecutive day of positive capital flows and underscoring sustained institutional appetite for crypto exposure.
The strong Thursday performance reflects accelerating momentum across August, with Bitcoin ETFs now having accumulated $2.07 billion in net inflows through Thursday. This figure already surpasses April’s previous 2026 monthly high of $1.97 billion, even with seven additional trading sessions remaining in the month—a significant milestone for the funds.
The past four trading sessions have been particularly robust. Bitcoin ETFs attracted $297.6 million on Monday, followed by $189.3 million on Tuesday, $517.2 million on Wednesday, and Thursday’s $608.3 million, according to data from SoSoValue. This sustained inflow streak has pushed weekly inflows above $1.6 billion, while cumulative net inflows for US spot Bitcoin ETFs have reached $53.4 billion since inception.
This capital influx has coincided with substantial price appreciation. Bitcoin rallied to $75,133 on Friday, posting a 7.9% gain over the preceding 24 hours and maintaining a move above the critical $75,000 threshold. This price action reflects the positive feedback loop between ETF capital flows and market sentiment.
Ether ETFs Achieve Landmark Single-Day Inflow
Spot Ether ETFs delivered an equally impressive showing this week, recording their largest single-day net inflow across the funds’ entire trading history. Thursday’s $220.8 million intake stands as the largest amount across 203 trading sessions spanning 296 calendar days of operation. The previous record of approximately $246 million occurred on October 28, 2025, making Thursday’s performance a near-historic achievement for the relatively young funds.
This week’s momentum for Ether ETFs has been exceptional, with the funds attracting $512.2 million across four trading sessions. August net inflows have now reached approximately $754.9 million, and the funds now oversee total net assets of $13.58 billion. Accompanying the institutional capital flows, Ether gained 4.6% to approximately $2,357, reflecting strong market momentum across the digital asset complex.
What This Means for Crypto
The consecutive strong weeks of ETF inflows signal deepening institutional confidence in Bitcoin and Ether as core digital asset holdings. These flows demonstrate that despite ongoing regulatory debates and market volatility, traditional finance infrastructure continues expanding its integration with cryptocurrency markets. The record-setting August performance suggests institutional investors view current price levels as attractive entry points for meaningful positions.
Strong institutional adoption of major digital assets typically creates momentum that lifts sentiment across the broader cryptocurrency market, benefiting the entire ecosystem.
