Meta Announces Latest AI Models with Novel Capabilities

Meta has introduced two new artificial intelligence models—Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full—that the company describes as its most capable offerings to date. According to Meta, co-founder Mark Zuckerberg framed these models as representing progress toward “personal superintelligence.” The models feature two distinguishing technical capabilities: Active Memory, which enables relevant information to persist across multiple conversations without needing to be re-established each time, and Active Focus, which allows the AI agent to sustain concentration and productivity when working through particularly challenging or lengthy tasks.

Benchmark Results Show Competitive Performance, Though Disputed

To support its capabilities claims, Meta pointed to results from Artificial Analysis, an independent platform that evaluates artificial intelligence models. According to these assessments conducted at maximum reasoning effort, Muse Wonder Full achieved a score of 56 on the Intelligence Index, while the standard Wonder model scored 52. These positions place Wonder Full above Claude Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra—each scoring 53—though below Claude Opus 5.5, which scored 58.

The performance claims, however, have encountered skepticism from other quarters of the AI evaluation community. Bindu Reddy, CEO of Abacus.AI, which conducts its own model performance assessments, publicly contested Meta’s assertions. Reddy stated that Muse Wonder was “nowhere near Fable or Astra level” in actual capability, and indicated that detailed benchmark findings would be released to support this position. The disagreement underscores ongoing challenges in establishing standardized, universally-accepted methods for comparing AI model performance across different developers.

Pricing and Distribution Strategy

Meta’s pricing approach appears designed to capture market share among both cost-conscious and premium users. The standard Muse Wonder model is priced at $4 per million input tokens, matching Claude Opus 5.5’s rate while underpricing both GPT-6 Astra at $10 per million tokens and Claude Fable 5.1 at $50 per million tokens. This pricing parity with Opus while undercutting other premium options positions Meta competitively for users seeking high-performance AI without the highest-tier costs.

The more capable Wonder Full version is restricted to subscribers of Meta’s Muse Code service, available exclusively through the “power usage” subscription tier costing $50 monthly or the “maximum usage” tier at $200 monthly. This exclusive distribution strategy combines premium access for committed users with steady recurring revenue generation for Meta.

As artificial intelligence capabilities expand across major corporations and become increasingly integrated into financial services and blockchain infrastructure, the competitive dynamics of AI development carry direct implications for cryptocurrency platforms and decentralized finance protocols operating in the emerging fintech landscape.
